I’m not a huge follower of politics, so it may not come as anything new to some who read this. After speaking to my sister, who currently lives in Prague, I came across the recent controversial artwork of by Czech sculptor David Černý, Entropa.

With the Czech Republic about to begin it’s reign of EU presidency, Černý was commissioned to create a sculpture to represent the occassion. He agreed, and produced this:

The sculpture represents each country in the EU through controversial and stereotypical ideas. Germany is represented by a series of roads in the shape of swastika, Denmark by lego bricks, and the UK with…well nothing. A fair representation I would say.

Click here for the list of Nations on the sculpture.

Sign the petition against censoring “Entropa”:
Prove that Europe has a sense of humour! 🙂
